不知道大家在看英美劇，或者聽(tīng)演講采訪的是時(shí)候，有沒(méi)有留意到那些native說(shuō)話都會(huì)無(wú)意中加上一些無(wú)意思的詞語(yǔ)，這次詞語(yǔ)不僅表示說(shuō)話者稍微停頓思考，還可以讓斷斷續(xù)續(xù)的話聽(tīng)起來(lái)更加連貫。這些詞叫做filler words，就像是我們中文里的“那個(gè)、就是說(shuō)、我的意思”那樣，恰當(dāng)適量地可以讓你的話聽(tīng)起來(lái)流暢而且地道哦。那么，下面英語(yǔ)君說(shuō)幾個(gè)常用的filler words吧。

(1)….well

在口語(yǔ)中，well出現(xiàn)的頻率非常高。它表達(dá)的意思也十分豐富：可以表示驚訝、無(wú)可奈何、讓步、停頓思考、疑問(wèn)等等。

e.g. Well, he's strict and I get angry when he doesn't want me to do stuff.

是啊，他很嚴(yán)格，當(dāng)他不讓我去做那些事的時(shí)候我就會(huì)生氣。

e.g. Well, it may be true. But I find it difficult to believe.

好吧，這也許是真的，不過(guò)叫我難以相信。

(2)I mean

I mean”我的意思是。通常用于進(jìn)一步向?qū)Ψ浇忉?，或者要詳?xì)解說(shuō)自己說(shuō)話內(nèi)容。

e.g. I mean I like both of the companies.

我的意思是這兩家公司我都喜歡。

e.g. I mean you love the couch, why?

我的意思是你愛(ài)沙發(fā)，為什么?

e.g. I mean, what would that look like?

我是說(shuō)，那會(huì)成個(gè)什么樣子了呢?

(3)you know

“you know”在對(duì)話中，表示考慮接下來(lái)要說(shuō)的話，意思是：你知道的，比方說(shuō)，就是說(shuō)。

e.g. She thought a lot about her appearance, you know, and spent a lot of money on clothes.

她很注重外表，你知道，她買衣服就花了不少錢。

e.g. They are grossing me out too, you know.

你知道，他們對(duì)我也并不客氣。

(4)like…

“like”有時(shí)候也會(huì)說(shuō)成“so like”，表示所以、就是說(shuō)、打個(gè)比方說(shuō) 的意思。

e.g. well, like my dad doesn't let me see R movies, but my mom does.

對(duì)啊，就像我爸不讓我看R級(jí)電影，但我媽卻允許。

e.g. A: What do you do with your friends?

你和你朋友在一起的時(shí)候做什么?

B: We do things like shopping, watching movies, etc. We hang out like twice a week. When we hang out it is really, like, exciting.

我們就是逛街啊，看電影啊什么的。我們差不多一周出去玩兒兩次。我們一起玩兒的時(shí)候就是特別開(kāi)心。

①Actually：實(shí)際上；事實(shí)上

(5)Actually /Basically/ absolutely/ definitely各種副詞

e.g. Actually I meant to notify you beforehand.

實(shí)際上我是想事先通知你的。

②Basically：主要地，基本上

e.g. Basically, you decide what to do from moment to moment.

基本上，你可以隨時(shí)決定你要做的事情。

③Absolutely：絕對(duì)地；完全地

e.g. I absolutely believe in miracles, and believe that they are all around us, every day.

我絕對(duì)相信奇跡，相信它們每天都存在于我們的身邊。

④definitely：清楚地，當(dāng)然；明確地，肯定地

e.g. "They definitely want this to go away, " he said.

他說(shuō)：“他們當(dāng)然想讓這次風(fēng)波過(guò)去。”

e.g. No, definitely not.

不，絕對(duì)不會(huì)。
